Every project begins with a free in-home measure, where we assess subfloor construction, flatness, and moisture content before recommending any product. Industry tolerance for most floating installations is 3/16 inch of variation across a 10 foot span. Anything outside that gets ground down or filled with self-leveling compound.

Our crews handle demolition, preparation, installation, trim carpentry, and disposal within a single scheduled sequence. A typical 1,500 square foot residence takes two to four working days from start to final walkthrough. Plank direction, seam placement, and transition height all influence how a finished installation reads visually. We lay out the entire room before setting the first board, because running planks along the longest sightline makes narrow spaces appear considerably wider.

Available wood-look products range from 5 inch to 9 inch plank widths, alongside porcelain tile in 12x24 and larger formats. Border details, thresholds, and stair nosings are quoted as part of the original price. Samples come to your house, because showroom lighting misrepresents how a floor reads at home.

Single-family residences represent the majority of our installation volume. Some are 1920s homes near downtown constructed over ventilated crawl spaces with original heart pine underneath. Others are recent construction on slab foundations along the Burkhalter and Cawana Road corridor.

Those two construction types require different underlayment, different fastening methods, and occasionally a completely different product. We identify which category your property falls into during the initial measure. That determination drives both the product recommendation and roughly a third of the labor cost.

We locate the highest point of the finished floor first, then set the entire base cabinet run dead level to that reference mark. Every remaining box gets shimmed upward to meet it. That single step is what keeps a countertop flat and door reveals consistent across the run.

Set a kitchen to follow a sloping floor and it reads wrong permanently, with no trim detail able to disguise it. Floors in older Bulloch County homes routinely vary by half an inch across a single run.

Finished end panels get scribed to the actual contour of the adjoining wall rather than butted against it. Filler strips absorb the gaps wherever a cabinet run terminates into a corner. We plan approximately 3/4 inch of filler anywhere a door or drawer front sits adjacent to a wall.

Without that allowance the door strikes the wall on its first opening, which is the most frequent complaint on a rushed cabinet installation. Frameless cabinets are less forgiving here, since there is no face frame to absorb the discrepancy.

Countertop fabricators cannot template until the cabinet boxes are installed and verified level. We build that dependency directly into the project schedule so nobody loses a week waiting. Template to final installation typically runs 7 to 14 days depending on the fabricator.

Plumbing and electrical disconnection and reconnection are performed by licensed trades. We identify which portions of your project fall outside our scope during the estimate. Knowing that in advance prevents the scheduling gaps that stall most kitchen renovations.

Sweep or vacuum abrasive grit before foot traffic grinds it into the wear layer. Sand is the primary cause of premature surface damage throughout southeast Georgia, particularly in properties served by unpaved drives. Use a damp mop rather than a saturated one, and avoid steam mops entirely on floating installations.

Manufacturer-approved cleaners only. Vinegar solutions and oil soaps progressively dull most factory-applied finishes. Both also void the finish warranty on the majority of prefinished products.

Install felt protectors under every furniture leg and replace them annually as they compress and collect grit. Walk-off mats at exterior entries intercept the majority of tracked-in debris before it reaches finished flooring. Maintain interior relative humidity between 35 and 55 percent to limit seasonal dimensional movement in wood.

Keep pet nails trimmed, since most deep scratches we are called to inspect turn out to be pet related. A quality entry mat and trimmed nails together prevent the bulk of avoidable surface damage.

Solid hardwood can be sanded and refinished multiple times across its service life, which is precisely why it frequently outlasts the structure containing it. Engineered wood generally tolerates one or two refinishing cycles depending on the thickness of its wear veneer.

Grout in wet areas should be resealed every 12 to 24 months. Left unsealed it stains permanently and eventually admits water to the substrate below. Resealing a standard bathroom takes under an hour and costs a fraction of a tile repair.

The measure itself runs under an hour. You do not need to be present throughout, although it helps considerably if someone can answer questions about the property. We photograph existing conditions during the visit so the quote references what we actually saw.

You receive a single written figure covering material, labor, subfloor preparation, and disposal. That is deliberately different from a per square foot estimate over the phone, which is invariably low and reliably followed by a change order once demolition begins.
